The inaugural Lake Lure Music Festival brings three world-renowned musicians to Western NC this summer.
Violinist Chee-Yun's flawless technique, dazzling tone and compelling artistry have enraptured audiences on five continents. Charming, charismatic and deeply passionate about her art, Chee-Yun continues to carve a unique place for herself in the ever-evolving world of classical music.
Houston Symphony Principal Clarinetist Mark Nuccio has been praised by critics of The New York Times for his solo, orchestral, and chamber appearances, describing him as "the evening's highlight," full of "mystery and insight," and "shaping his phrases beautifully, with a rich, expressive tone. Mr. Nuccio performed with The New York Philharmonic for 17 years.
And the young award-winning pianist Scott Cuellar has given solo recitals at major venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus and Bösendorfersaal, the Newport Music Festival, the Polytheatre Chongqing and the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in the People’s Republic of China.
The evening's program also incorporates a narrative performance by Director Chris Dolman of Cape May Stage.
All funds raised from the Lake Lure Music Festival will support Lake Lure Classical Academy and its students. The event will be held in the brand new 1,300-seat Raptor Center at lake Lure Classical Academy.
